India's Anup Sridhar returned home to Bangalore on Sunday night after a great showing at the World Championships in Kuala Lumpur.

It was a somewhat low-key affair. Sridhar was welcomed back home by his parents and former All-England winner, Prakash Padukone.

Sridhar was knocked out of the tournament by top seed Lin Dan who defeated the Bangalore lad 22-20, 21-9 in the quarter finals of the event.

But what was brilliant about his run was a win versus Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat in the earlier rounds.
