India's ace long jumper, Anju Bobby George finished fourth at the Golden Gala meet in Rome, the second leg of the TDK Golden League Circuit, with a leap of 6.41 metres. The Russians took the top three spots at this 24th MGK-Vis Golden Gala, the second of this season's TDK Golden League series of six meetings, at the Olympic stadium in the Italian capital, according to information reaching here. Entering the last round, Tatyana Nebedeva had already won the event, thanks to her second (6.87) and third jumps (6.88). But that did not stop her from coming up with a 7.01m in the final attempt which equalled the second best jump this season. The effort dwarfed the second and third place performances of her Russian counterparts European champion Tatyana Kotova (6.76) and Irina Simagina (6.73), the European Cup winner. (PTI)
