Huge disappointment for Indian athletics in Beijing, Indian long-jumper Anju Bobby George has started off in disastrous fashion in the women's long-jump event.

She has failed to qualify for the finals of the women's long-jump event.

Anju, the bronze medalist in 2003 World Championships in Paris had a disastrous day in Beijing. Her all three of her jumps were fouls.

Anju, who was the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the athletics world championship, failed to finish among the top 12 jumpers, who qualified for the finals.
