Anju Bobby George qualifies for final

India's star long jumper Anju Bobby George has qualified for the finals of the Long Jump event at the Athens Olympics.

India's star long jumper Anju Bobby George has qualified for the finals of the Long Jump event at the Athens Olympics. She easily crossed the qualifying mark of 6.65 meters registering a jump of 6.69 metres. The finals are on August 27. Anju's first leap was better than the automatic qualification mark of 6.65m. She is only the second Indian woman athlete to qualify for a final in athletics after P T Usha's feat in the 400m hurdles in the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
