New Delhi:

National high jump champion Bobby Aloysisus has said that she will quit athletics because she was ignored for the Arjuna Awards this year. Her main complaint is that J J Shobha got the award this year even though her past achievements are more weighty than Shobha's 11th place finish in the heptathlon at Athens Olympics. "I don't know what the problem is. This is the first time I have applied for the award and got it. She will also get it soon, I am sure," said Shobha. "We had recommended all these names to the government. I would request them to consider athletics as different from other sports," said Lalit Bhanot, Secretary, Athletics Federation of India. "This is a multi-discipline event and all the athletes have performed well," he added.
