0.3 OUT! CAUGHT! French hits the money with a probing line, short of a length outside off, and the ball kicks up before gripping off the seam. Nathaniel Hlabangana looks to punch off the back foot, only to nick it thickly to second slip. Moores fumbles the first chance but holds on the second time. An early blow to the home side, and French is off to a flyer. 0/1

10.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Hands delivers England their second breakthrough. Muradzi never looked at ease against the short ball, and it finally does the damage. It's banged in short around off, he goes for the pull, but gets a top edge and the ball balloons towards deep backward square leg. Minto gets under it and takes a simple catch. A 26-ball 8 for Kupakwashe Muradzi and Zimbabwe Under-19 are 30 for 2. 30/2

21.5 OUT! BOWLED! Well, the name might be Farhan Ahmed but this is a dream delivery for an off spinner. Shoaib Bashir is there near the England dugout and he would have been proud of that too. If my memory serves me correctly, he did take a wicket or two in the same fashion during India's tour of England. Coming to the delivery, it was tossed up, with plenty of flight, outside off. Kian Blignaut comes down the track, aiming to work it down the ground but is not to the pitch of the ball. The ball dips in, beats the bat and then spins in viciously to hit the top of off stump! Excellent delivery, but this wicket was coming. Blignaut was stranded at one end and was just not able to get off strike, itching to do something. He departs for 33 (63) and the 45-run stand is broken. ZIMBABWE UNDER-19 ARE 75/3 AFTER 21.5 OVERS! 75/3

26.5 OUT! GIVEN LBW! A promising knock from Dhruv Patel comes to an end. He departs for 36 off 53 balls, and Zimbabwe slip to 107 for 4. The bowler gives it extra flight, landing it full around middle, and it straightens just enough. Dhruv goes down for the sweep, misses completely, and is struck on the bent back leg. The appeal goes up, and the umpire has no hesitation. Looked plumb to the naked eye. 107/4

29.2 OUT! BOWLED! That's sheer bad luck. But this is what pace can do. It can make you uncomfortable as a batter. This one lands on a good length and skids off the deck, albeit down the leg side. Chimugoro looks to work it to the leg side but is clearly beaten by pace. The ball hits his back thigh but unfortunately for him, it then drops down and rolls back onto the stumps! Chimugoro is frustrated to no end. He was looking a million dollars but his knock has been cut short on 30 (25). Zimbabwe Under-19 are back in trouble - 107/3 becomes 118/5. 118/5

36 OUT! STUMPED! Thomas Rew, take a bow. The conditions are overcast and there has been a case of lightning or two reported over the last couple of days, but this is live lightning on the ground. In the sport. Terrific keeping. Beautifully tossed up, by Farhan Ahmed, keeping it very slow, making the ball to dip, Brendon Senzere lunges to defend but is beaten by the lack of pace. The ball lands and goes past the outside edge. Because of the lunge, Senzere's back foot rises ever so slightly but that is enough for Rew. Collects the ball and even before we could say 'GO!', the bails were dislodged. He knew it straightaway and started to celebrate but then realized that an appeal had to be made for stumping. It was referred upstairs and the replays showed that before the back foot could get down, the bails were off. Another batter walks off after a start as Senzere departs for 14 (25). 107/3 has now become 136/6 for Zimbabwe Under-19. 136/6

39 OUT! CAUGHT! End of a short stay for Michael Blignaut. Albert has bowled far better deliveries for no reward, but cricket can be a funny game. He strikes this time with a full toss around middle. Blignaut's eyes light up, he drops to one knee looking to launch it into the mid-wicket stands, but it is a case of ambition getting cancelled out by execution. The ball catches the bottom half of the bat and balloons into the deep, where Manny Lumsden settles under it and takes the skier safely. Zimbabwe lose their seventh wicket for 153 and the innings continues to stutter, never quite finding the momentum they require. 153/7

46.4 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Lumsden outfoxes the batter with the slower one. Short and on middle, Leeroy Chiwaula waits an age before attempting the pull, but he is through the shot far too early. The top edge balloons behind the stumps and Thomas Rew shuffles across to his left to take a simple catch. A handy contribution from Leeroy comes to an end, but his 40-run stand with the skipper has nudged Zimbabwe closer to the 200 mark. 193/8

48.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Lumsden strikes for the third time and Zimbabwe are in danger of being bundled out well before the 50 overs are up. It is a length ball angling in around off, and Zuze looks to slog across the line. He gets plenty of height but nowhere near the distance. The ball hangs in the air and drops into Albert's hands at square leg. Poor game awareness there, especially with a set batter at the other end. 196/9

3 OUT! CAUGHT! Now, that is a real gift. The trap was set and Dawkins has jumped right into it. After his first six, the fielder at point was pushed back. Mazvitorera bowled it short and wide outside off, challenging Dawkins' ego to take him on. Dawkins accepts the challenge and slaps it real hard. But he hits it straight to Dhruv Patel at deep point who makes no mistake! The home side is overjoyed to see its plan come to fruition while Dawkins walks back, cutting a sorry figure. He departs for 11 (10) and Zimbabwe have the early wicket they needed. England Under-19 are 22/1 and need another 187 runs from 282 balls. 22/1

6.4 OUT! CAUGHT! And now, I am reminded of Michael Atherton. Not because of the shot, but because of something said by the great man. This is an incident somewhere in 2024, when Australia had toured England for a white-ball series. Athers had just finished praising Bethell and on the next ball, the youngster threw his wicket away, to a pretty innocuous ball by Glenn Maxwell. 'Kiss of death', was his comment on air at that moment. Moores reminds me of that. We just praised him and on the next ball, he gifts it away. On a length, wide outside off, Moores slaps it uppishly, but straight to Nathaniel Hlabangana at deep point who does not have to move an inch! Excellent homework by Zimbabwe who saw England play against Pakistan. Great field settings. Moores departs for 19 (20) and England Under-19 are 42/2, needing another 167 runs from 260 balls. 42/2
