The business end of the tournament is at hand as players fought hard to progress ahead in Wimbledon. Some made it while others were forced to pack their bags instead. A look at Tuesday's highlights.
Maria Sharapova was the main draw as she took on and downed Dominika Cibulkova 6-1, 6-1 to reach the semifinals.
Sabine Lisicki reached her first Grand Slam semi-final, beating 2007 finalist Marion Bartoli 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-1.
India had some cheer too when Sania Mirza and her Russian partner Elena Vesnina defeated the Polish-Slovakian team of Agnieszka Radwanska and Daniela Hantuchova 6-4, 6-3 in the Ladies Doubles event.
Mirza and Vesnina seem to discuss their plans during their round three match which eventually ended in their favour.
Sania's match with Rohan Bopanna in the mixed doubles category however was called off along with many others due to stormy weather that eventually brought the day's proceedings to an end.
