Budapest:Anne Kremer of Luxembourg upset third-seeded Maria Kirilenko of Russia 6-3, 6-4 in a first round match at the Gaz de France Budapest Grand Prix.
Kremer, ranked 100th in the world, opened the first set by winning three games in a row before Kirilenko responded with three straight games of her own.
But the Russian, ranked 38th, seemed to lose her concentration and Kremer won three more games to take the first set.
The second set was balanced until 4-4 when Kremer broke Kirilenko's serve and kept her own to win the match her first victory over Kirilenko.

Rain interrupted play after just one point in the third set. While the court was declared fit for play after an hour-long delay, the two players decided to continue their match on Wednesday.
