New York:There has been a huge upset in the US Open as sixth seed Andy Murray defied the odds to defeat World number 1, Rafael Nadal 6-2, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 to set up a final encounter with defending champion Roger Federer.
Murray who was leading two sets to love when rain stopped play on Sunday, lost the third to Nadal who was looking to reach his first ever US Open final.
However, the British number 1, regained his composure to win the final set and the match to end the Spaniard's 19-match unbeaten streak in Grand Slams.
Murray is the second British player to reach the US Open final.
Murray will be further boosted by the fact that he holds a 2-1 head to head record over Federer including a win this year in Dubai.
