The Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi pair have kept Indian hopes alive at the Australian Open by advancing to the final of the mixed doubles event at Melbourne Park.

Mirza and Bhupathi won their 2nd round match at this year's Australian Open against 2nd seeds Simon Aspelin and Lisa Raymond, and overcame Andy Ram of Israel and Natalie Dechy of France in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the Semi-Final.

The Indian duo also benefitted from a walkover given by seventh seeded Czechs Martin Damm and Kveta Peschke in the Quarters. They will now play the 5th seeds, China's Tiantian Sun & Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic in the final.
