Singapore: Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki beat Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 7-5, 6-3 at the WTA Finals in Singapore on Wednesday to take top position in White Group of the season finale.

Wozniacki took three hours to beat Sharapova in a slugfest on Tuesday and expected another long match against Radwanska but was relieved by her two set win after a tightly contested first set.

"I knew from the start that this wasn't going to be an easy match," Wozniacki said in a court interview.

"I came out there a little bit nervous, but you know, I just did my best out there," added the world number eight, who credits marathon training for raising her fitness level.
