Paris:Andre Agassi became the first man to play in 58 Grand Slams today, but sadly for him the occasion was marked with a first round exit. However, the American without a title win in the last nine months, certainly didn't seem in top form against Jarko Neimenen of Finland. It didn't help that the former French Open champion was bothered by a hip injury and though he took the match to a fifth set, the 6-0 loss in the final set proved that age is probably catching up. Agassi, the only current men's player to have won all four Grand Slams, left Roland Garros without showing too much emotion. But many believe that this could well be the last appearance for the eight-time Grand Slam champion at the French Open. In the women's draw, top seed Maria Sharapova also survived a scare. The Wimbledon champion had to come from a set down to beat fellow Russian Evgenia Linetskaya. Sharapova was down 3-1 in the final set before winning 6-7 6-2 6-4.
