Mumbai:
Asian Games gold medallist Sania Mirza hopes she can turn things around and play the way she did at the Asiad and have a better 2007. "Since the last four-five months it's been great. I have been injury free and played a lot better," Sania told NDTV on Tuesday. "We are going to have ups and downs, but Doha was a great way to finish and I am looking forward to the next year. Ia€™ll enter it with a lot of confidence." The Indian tennis sensation added that her new trainer had made a lot of difference to her fitness in just a month-and-a-half. "It's very painful when we workout, but I am already feeling stronger and fitter," she said. Sania added that she was not desperately looking for a coach. "What I really needed was a trainer and a physio and I have got that. If somebody (coach) comes my way, then I may consider it." Speaking about her pairing up with Leander Paes for the mixed doubles event at Doha, Sania said, "In the last four years both Leander and I have grown a lot. We are much more matured players and people and he showed me how to play for the country. There was great energy on the court." Asked about the team dynamics at the Doha Asiad, she said, "It' sad, but I was in the women's team and in the first week we hardly had time off the court to get into the politics." On whether Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi could again play together, Sania said, "It's between them and we should leave it to them. The best thing is that they came back with the gold. They are both grown up men and they should decide whether they want to play together or not." Sania, presently ranked 65th in the world, picked up a mixed doubles gold and two silver medals at the recently concluded Doha Asian Games.Topics mentioned in this article
