India's next big hope, besides Mahesh Bhupathi at the US Open in New York is Sania Mirza. NDTV chatted with the Wimbledon girls' doubles champion before she left. Sania says she's hoping to make a mark at what's going to be her last junior event. NDTV: You are about to leave for the US Open. What are the special preparations? Sania: I have worked on serve and fitness, not on groundstrokes since I feel they are pretty good. NDTV: Have you taken the hard courts of Flushing Meadow into account. It will be a big change of surface from clay of France to grass of Wimbledon to the hard courts of the US Open? Sania: I took one week off after Wimbledon and then straight away started playing on hard courts. It's my favourite surface. NDTV: You've done so well at Wimbledon. The expectations have increased for the US Open. Does the pressure get to you? Sania: No, I don't feel much pressure. I have always been used to people expecting a lot from me. Singles is your priority. What are you doing to work on your singles game? Sania: I'm working on my serve and physical fitness. NDTV: The last time we had spoken you had mentioned coaching abroad. Will you be taking some coaching abroad? Sania: Bob Brett is coming to see me play at the US Open. So I should have something definite after the Grand Slam. NDTV: You have shone more in doubles. You are already 16 in the juniors when there are players much younger than you who are playing as well as you. How do you rate your chances on the professional circuit? Sania: For an Indian woman to have won a Grand Slam at 16 is pretty good and I hope to be in the top 150-200 in the next two to three years. NDTV: What are your plans after the US Open? Sania: There's one more tournament in the United States and after that I'll be participating in the Afro Asian Games.
