India face the formidable prospect of beating last year's finalists Australia to reach the elite World Group of the Davis Cup. According to the draw made today, India will have to play the away tie against the Australians on September 20-22. Australia has won the Davis Cup 27 times, securing their last title in 1999 and finishing runners-up in 2000. The other pairings drawn today: Zimbabwe vs Belgium, Brazil vs Canada, Germany vs Venezuela, Britain vs Thailand, Finland vs Netherlands, Slovakia vs Romania, and Morocco vs Switzerland. The winning teams will secure spots in the 2003 World Group, while the losing nations will be relegated to zonal divisions. (With PTI inputs)
