New York:It's been disappointing for the Indian tennis fans as the US Open men's doubles clash between Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi got postponed because of the rain in New York.
They waited for hours in the rain at the Arthur Ashe stadium for the final that has pit India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes against each other.
"I came all the way from Boston because we had this double whammy right-both Indians in the finals," an Indian fan said.
Wearing their hearts on their sleeves at the US Open, Indians are primed for the summit clash between one time friends-now top rivals in the men's doubles event.
"It's a shame that both are playing separately," a disappointed fan said.
"But whoever wins India wins, so we are very happy about that," another fan said.
Fans are expecting some great tennis as both Paes and Bhupathi are in top form. Paes is going for his second Slam doubles crown of the season, having already won the French Open, while Bhupathi clinched the gold at the Montreal Masters.
"It's very very exciting. I do not even know who to cheer for," a confused fan said.
This is the sixth time that Paes and Bhupathi will be contesting a Grand Slam final together, but for the first time they will be playing on opposite sides of the net.
For their fans though it's a win-win situation. Either way, the glory will belong to an Indian.
