Bad Wildungen:
The FIFA world cup is just 48 hours away and the German town of Bad Wildungen held a colourful hot air balloon parade to celebrate the tournament. In a display that stretched across several kilometres, 32 balloons, each affixed with a flag from one of the participating nations, took to the skies over the central German town. A final balloon carrying the provincial banner led the way as the procession crossed the late afternoon sky. "We are using the World Cup to show that we are friendly, tolerant and we are open to all who visit us in Germany," said Heinz Zielinski, Hessen Minister of Sport. Germany opens the 2006 World Cup Friday in Munich against Costa Rica.Topics mentioned in this article
