Augusta:
Defending champion Tiger Woods is the favourite to win the 66th Masters at Augusta National Golf Club course this week. Woods says the pressure this time is a lot less than what is was last time when he was attempting to become the first golfer to hold all four majors at one time. "It's a lot nicer this year because I didn't have to answer the questions at every tournament (regarding his fourth major in a row). I understood it but it became a little annoying," Woods remarked. What's probably annoying for the rest of the players though is that as usual they have to chase Tiger Woods, who's won two of the last five masters. "The player to look at is the number one player in the world, Tiger. He's the guy that everybody's got to look out for and given his length, accuracy and distance control, he's going to be the guy to beat," said Phil Mickelson, who's got a remarkable record of 20 PGA Tour victories in his 10-year career. Also in the fray is 47-year-old Greg Norman, the man whose quest to earn a green jacket is evidently turning out to be like Ivan Lendl's attempt to win Wimbledon. "I've put a lot of good effort in this golf course and I haven't come up with a victory. Some have been close," said Norman. The dark horse of the tournament is Craig Perks who got a special invitation to the Masters after winning the Players Championship three weeks ago.Topics mentioned in this article
