Defender Rio Ferdinand is likely to recover from a groin strain to play in England's second-round match against Ecuador on Sunday. Ferdinand was substituted in the 56th minute of England's 2-2 draw with Sweden on Tuesday. He missed training on Thursday but England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is confident he'll be fit for the Stuttgart match. "We think Rio will be fit for Sunday," Eriksson said on Thursday. Sol Campbell would be the most likely be the replacement for Ferdinand. Jamie Carragher also could switch from right-back to his preferred role in the centre, with Owen Hargreaves replacing him. Regular right-back Gary Neville began light training on Thursday after sustaining a calf injury in the warmup for the Trinidad and Tobago match on June 10 but is unlikely to play against Ecuador.
