Remaining in the fray are some very talented - though lesser known - shuttlers who can be the big difference in the tournament.

11:35 (IST) - IBL in numbers
The money at stake in the IBL
The money at the disposal of the six franchises
The base price for the six icon players

Number of foreign players in each franchise

11:25 (IST) - While organisers and all others involved have been pitching IBL to be a sensational format of an exciting sport, the tournament has had its share of rough patches with the auctions being postponed thrice.
11:20 (IST) - The IBL has tweaked international rules to make the sport more interesting and rivetting - both for players and especially for the spectators. For example, the victor in IBL will be the one who first reaches 21 points in the first two games unlike established rules where he/she needs a two-point gap.
Also, if the game goes into the third and decider set, it will be an 11-point match and not a 21-point final battle as has been prevalent. (Read: New scoring system creates a buzz)
11:00 (IST) - The Indian Badminton League auction will take place today with close to 150 players going under the hammer.
A novel concept, the IBL is set to revolutionise the sport in India as well as globally.
