New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders, two teams who have seen contrasting change of fortunes in recent years lock horns in their first match of IPL 5.
While significant changes have been made to the Delhi side at the 2012 auction, their new recruits are yet to arrive. Kolkata on the other hand would look to improve on their steep curve in the last season with a strong batting line-up headed by captain Gautam Gambhir.
Here is a look at the head-to-head record of the two teams.
Won by Delhi: 3 (Winning % 50.00)
Won by Kolkata: 3 (Winning % 50.00)
|13.5.2008||Kol.||Kolkata||Kolkata (23 runs)|
|5.5.2009||Kol.||Durban||Delhi (9 wickets)|
|10.5.2009||Delhi||Johannesburg||Delhi (7 wickets)|
|29.3.2010||Delhi||Delhi||Delhi (40 runs)|
|7.4.2010||Kol.||Kolkata||Kolkata (14 runs)|
|28.4.2011||Delhi||Delhi||Kolkata (17 runs)|
Delhi's good run in the first two seasons however make them a better side on paper in terms of the total matches played in the tournament.
Overall IPL record
