This was the battle between two of Sri Lankan cricket's longest serving superstars - Muttiah Muralitharan and Mahela Jayawardene. Where Mahela captained the Delhi team, Muralitharan did not feature in the RCB line up. (BCCI image)
Virender Sehwag gave Delhi a brisk start after being put into bat. Just when it seemed that Sehwag was finding his feet, he lobbed a simple catch to mid-wicket to be out for 25. Sehwag played 23 balls in his innings punched with 4 fours. (BCCI image)
Vinay Kumar was the first to get things going for RCB, catching David Warner sharply of his own bowling. (BCCI image)

Delhi's chase of 16 runs in the Super Over began horrendously, with David Warner out caught by Chris Gayle at point off Ravi Rampaul on the very first ball. Delhi staring down the barrel, needing 16 from 5 balls. (BCCI image)
However, Irfan Pathan had other ideas. The left-hander hit 10 of three balls to make sure Delhi needed 6 from the final 2 balls. Could Delhi get those? (BCCI image)
The answer was no as Ravi Rampaul held his nerve to not just restrict Irfan to a single off the penultimate ball, but also clean bowled Ben Rohrer on the final ball, leaving the visitors five short at the end of the Super Over. (BCCI image)
Surely, Virat Kohli the skipper was a relieved after the closely-fought win. His previous tryst with the Super Over saw his side lose to Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the tournament and Kohli was pumped up after snatching a win from the jaws of defeat in a match that his side seemed to have wrapped up at one stage.
