While Ajit Chandila has the distinction of being the first bowler to claim a hat-trick in the Indian Premier League, his 27-year-old teammate in Ankeet Chavan has also shown promise as an all-rounder. Now though, both Rajasthan Royals find themselves in trouble with allegations of spot-fixing made against them.
Playing for the 2008 IPL champions, both players - along with S Sreesanth - were arrested from their hotel in Mumbai by the Delhi police. While Sreesanth is a veteran of 27 Tests, Chandila and Chavan have featured regularly in the IPL.
In the ongoing edition of the tournament for instance, Chandila has featured in 8 of the 15 matches played by his side. He has six wickets and has been fairly stingy in terms of economy - 6.24.
Chavan though has been ordinary in the three chances given to him this season. The all-rounder has been unable to get a chance to bat and with the ball, has claimed just a solitary wicket with expensive figures.
Both players have played domestic cricket for some time now with Chavan even managing a century and as many as 53 wickets at an economy of 3.22.
