IPL 6 Preview: Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab interesting stats

One of the statistical highlights of the Chennai Super Kings this season have been that they have registered six successive wins for the first time in their tournament history.

# Chennai Super Kings became the first team to win eight matches (out of ten) in IPL 2013. Chennai's tally of 55 wins out of 91 matches is the highest by any team at the IPL (lost 34, Tied 1 and NR 1) - winning percentage 61.66. Chennai, for the first time, have won six consecutive games in the IPL between April 18 and April 30, 2013, surpassing their previous streak of five wins in-a-row between April 30, 2009 and May 9, 2009.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni is averaging 49.66 at the IPL - his tally being 298 runs in nine innings, including two fifties. Dhoni's strike rate of 281.25 (45 not out off 16 balls) is the highest by any batsman at the IPL 2013 (minimum 40 runs). Dhoni and Suresh Raina were involved in a stand of 61 (unbroken) - Chennai's highest for the fourth wicket against Pune Warriors (on April 30) in the IPL. Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja had also added 61 for the fourth wicket at Pune on April 14, 2012.

# Chennai Super King's Suresh Raina, with 46 catches, has established a record for most catches at the IPL, bettering Rohit Sharma's 43. Raina, thanks to his 16th fifty against Pune on April 30, has completed 2500 runs at the IPL - 2513 at an average of 33.50 in 91 matches - the first batsman to perform the feat.

# Kings XI Punjab's tally of 42 defeats (39 wins and one tied game out of 82 played) is the second highest, next only to the 46 by Deccan Chargers at the IPL.

# Australian David Hussey (5020) is the third batsman after Brad Hodge (5443) and Chris Gayle (5288) to complete 5000 runs in Twenty20.

# The leading wicket-takers for Punjab at the IPL 2013 are - Azhar Mahmood (11) and Praveen Kumar (10).

# Mandeep Singh, with 228 runs at an average of 28.50 in nine games, is the top run-scorer for Punjab at the IPL 2013.

# David Miller has top-scored for Punjab (vs Mumbai Indians on April 29), taking his aggregate to 200 at an average of 66.66 in five matches at the IPL 2013. Miller's 56 off 34 balls is the third fifty for Punjab at the IPL 2013. He is the first Punjab batsman to register two fifties in the present competition, having recorded an unbeaten 80 against Pune Warriors at Mohali on April 21, 2013.

# Miller's tally of 11 sixes is the highest by a Punjab player at the IPL 2013. He is the only Punjab player to hit five sixes in an innings twice at the IPL 2013.
