IPL stats: Mike Hussey becomes first batsman to score 4 fifties this season

Hussey's aggregate of 445 (ave.74.16) in eight matches is the second highest at the IPL 2013, next only to the 450 (ave.90.00) in nine matches by Chris Gayle.

Chennai Super Kings became the first team to register seven wins out of nine at the IPL 2013.

Chennai became the first team to record five successive wins in the present edition of the IPL 2013. They have emulated their previous tally of five wins at the IPL during 2009 between April 30 and May 9.

Chennai have won eight and lost four out of twelve contested against Kolkata at the IPL - winning % 66.66

The three teams with most defeats at the IPL 2013 before the start of Delhi-Pune game are - Delhi (7), Pune (6) and Kolkata (6).

Chennai Super Kings (200/3) have recorded their highest total against Kolkata Knight Riders at the IPL, eclipsing the 190 for three at Chepauk, Chennai on May 27, 2012.

Kolkata Knight Riders' 186 for four is their second highest losing total at the IPL - their highest being 200 for three while batting first at Eden Gardens, Kolkata against Kings XI Punjab on April 4, 2010. Kolkata had lost by eight wickets.

Kolkata Knight Riders' above total is the highest losing score in the second innings in the present competition, eclipsing Delhi Daredevils' 165 for nine against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 9.

Wriddhiman Saha and Michael Hussey were involved in a stand of 103 - Chennai's highest opening partnership against Kolkata at the IPL, outstripping the 97 between Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on May 14, 2012.

The aforesaid partnership is the third century stand for the first wicket by any pair against Kolkata at the IPL - the highest being 127 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar for Mumbai Indians at Port Elizabeth on April 27, 2009.

Saha has completed his 1000 runs in Twenty20 - his tally being 1024 (ave.24.38) in 82 matches.

Suresh Raina (44 off 25 balls) has become the second batsman after Chris Gayle (164) to complete a century of sixes at the IPL.

Michael Hussey (95 off 59 balls) has recorded his tenth fifty at the IPL apart from a hundred. He is the first player to hit four fifties in the present competition.

Hussey's excellent innings is the highest by a Chennai player at the IPL 2013.

Hussey is averaging 46.76 at the IPL - his aggregate being 1403 in 37 matches. Amongst the batsmen with 1000 runs or more at the IPL, only Chris Gale has a better average - 2254 (ave.54.97) in 52 matches.

For the first time in an IPL game, Jacques Kallis (4-0-50-0) has conceded 50 runs without taking a wicket. Dirk Nannes became the fifth bowler to concede 50 runs or more at the IPL 6, joining Ashok Dinda, Mitchell Marsh, Sachithra Senanayake and Jacques Kallis. Nannes (4-0-50-0) and Kallis have recorded the first instance of two bowlers conceding 50 runs without taking a wicket in the same match at the IPL 2013.

Chennai Super Kings' score at the end of the six overs was 67 for no loss - the highest by any team so far at the IPL 2013. Kolkata scored 63 for the loss of two wickets after the first six overs to register the first instance of both teams totalling 63 or more in the Powerplay 1 at the IPL this year.

Manvinder Bisla (92 off 61 balls) has posted his highest score at the IPL, surpassing the 89 off 48 balls against Chennai at Chepauk on May 27, 2012.

Bisla's aforesaid innings is his fourth fifty at the IPL. For the first time, he has recorded two successive fifties at the IPL. In his previous innings, he had made 51 not out against Punjab at Kolkata on April 26.

Bisla is the fourth batsman to score between 90 and 99 and finish on the losing side at the IPL, joining Shaun Marsh, Naman Ojha and Mahela Jayawardene.

Bisla's 92 is the highest score in a losing cause for Kolkata at the IPL, eclipsing Chris Gayle's 88 against Punjab at Eden Gardens on April 4, 2010.

Only two batsmen have managed more runs in an innings for Kolkata at the IPL - 158 not out by Brendon McCullum at Bangalore on April 18, 2008 and 93 by Gautam Gambhir at Kolkata on April 28, 2012 - both against RCB.

The top two individual innings for Kolkata against Chennai have been played by Bisla - 92 at Chepauk on April 28, 2013 and 89 at Chepauk on May 27, 2012.

For the first time, two innings of 90 or more have been recorded in the same IPL game - Michael Hussey (95) and Bisla (92).

The top three wicket-takers at the IPL 2013 are - James Faulkner (16), Sunil Narine (15) and Dwayne Bravo (15).

Gambhir has been bowled 16 times, setting an IPL record, outstripping Jacques Kallis' 15 'bowled' dismissals.

Michael Hussey has received his ninth Man of the Match award at the IPL - the fourth best tally after Chris Gayle (15), Yusuf Pathan (12) and Virender Sehwag (10).
