After the Cricket Association of Bengal, it's now the Mumbai Cricket Association's turn to felicitate Sachin and celebrate the legend's 24 year long career
A special felicitation function has been organised by the MCA on Monday. A new cricket facility will be inaugurated in Kandivili, with Sachin as the guest of honour. For the moment, the Mumbai Test against the Windies has taken a bit of a back seat.
No wonder then that West Indian legend Brian Lara has said, "No man is bigger than the game, but on this occasion, I believe that this event and what it stands for I think the results take a second spot. But I would love to see the West Indies put up five good days and make it a memorable test match for him."
The Windies of course will be desperate to bounce back hard. The Indian fans meanwhile are desperate to see a Sachin masterclass after being denied a chance to see him bat a 2nd time in Kolkata.
According to former Test cricketer and ground curator at the Wankhede, Sudhir Naik, the pitch has been made keeping in mind that this will be Sachin's last Test match. Naik feels that Sachin should bat a little bit because most of the public are coming to see him.
Die hard Sachin fan Aamir Khan is hoping for the Master Blaster to sign off on a high. Aamir infact has dedicated the title track of his latest film Dhoom 3 to Sachin.
However, the real dhoom that a billion plus fans are praying for is a 52nd Test century, a knock that will truly make the fairytale complete.
