India defeated Sri Lanka in the second match of the tri-nation series Down Under. It was however, a match well-contested by both sides and was eventually won with 20 balls to spare. A look at some of the highlights. (AFP and AP images)
Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan (R) pulls to the boundary watched by Indian wicketkeeper and captain MS Dhoni (L). Dilshan scored 48 off 79 balls.
R Ashwin celebrates one of his three wickets in the day. He went on to score 30 runs and was declared man-of-the-match.
Sri Lankan batsman Lahiru Thirimanne sweeps to the boundary. He scored 7 off 11 but managed to stay at the crease for a bit as Angelo Matthews (unseen above) helped himself to a gritty 33 of 28.
Dinesh Chandimald plays a shot as he went onto top-score for his side with 64 runs. Sri Lanka managed to set India a target of 234.
In reply, India lost Virender Sehwag (10) early but Sachin Tendulkar helped himself to a solid 48 before being bowled out.
There was no heavy damage though as Ravindra Jadeja (l) and Ashwin took India home with 4 wickets to spare.
