# Australia have recorded their sixth total of 500 or more against India at Adelaide - the highest being 674 in January 1948.

# Australia's total of 604/7d is the second highest against India at Adelaide.

# Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting have shared a stand of 386 - the highest partnership for the fourth wicket by any pair against India in Tests, obliterating the 288 by the same pair at Sydney in the first week of 2012.

# The aforesaid partnership is Australia's second highest for the fourth wicket in Tests, next only to the 388 between Don Bradman and Bill Ponsford against England at Leeds in July 1934.

# The 386-run stand is the highest for any wicket at Adelaide, surpassing the 341 for the third wicket between Eddie Barlow and Graeme Pollock for South Africa against Australia in January 1964.

# The aforesaid partnership is the highest for any wicket in Australia-India Tests, outstripping the 376 for the fifth wicket between VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in March 2001.

# The previous highest fourth wicket stand at this venue was 310 between Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen for England against Australia in December 2006.

# The 386-run stand is the third highest for any wicket against India in Tests - the two highest being 576 for the second wicket between Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama for Sri Lanka at Colombo (RPS) in August 1997 and 451 for the third wicket between Javed Miandad and Mudassar Nazar for Pakistan at Hyderabad (Sind) in January 1983.

# Clarke (210 off 275 balls) has recorded his second highest innings in Tests, next only to an unbeaten 329 off 468 balls against India at Sydney in the second Test of the series.

# Clarke's second 200-plus innings is the 20th by an Australian captain in Tests. Bradman had posted four, followed by three each by Bobby Simpson and Greg Chappell and two each by Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and Allan Border.

# Bradman and Clarke are the only two Australian captains to register two innings of 200-plus in a Test series. Bradman had accomplished the feat against England in January 1937 - 270 at Melbourne and 212 at Adelaide.

# Clarke has become the first Australian captain to register two innings of 200 or more against India. Greg Chappell had posted 204 at Sydney in January 1981 and Don Bradman 201 at Adelaide in January 1948.

# Clarke is the only captain to have recorded two innings of 200-plus against India in Tests. Don Bradman, Greg Chappell, Graham Dowling, Graham Gooch, Carl Hooper, Clive Lloyd and Kumar Sangakkara have recorded one innings of 200 or more each as captain against India.

# Clarke is the second batsman to register two innings of 200 or more in a Test series against India. Ricky Ponting was the first to accomplish the feat in the 2003-04 Test series in Australia - 257 at Melbourne and 242 at Adelaide.

# The highest individual innings at Adelaide is 299 not out by Sir Donald Bradman against South Africa in January 1932.

# Ricky Ponting (221) has become the first Australian player to register two double hundreds against India at Adelaide - 242 in December 2003 and 221 in January 2012.

# Don Bradman, Kim Hughes and Michael Clarke have recorded one double century each for Australia against India at Adelaide.

# Ponting's 221 is his sixth double century in Tests - three against India, two against Pakistan and one against the West Indies. Only Don Bradman (12) has recorded more double hundreds than Ponting for Australia.

# Only three other pairs - Mudassar Nazar (231) & Javed Miandad(280*) for Pakistan at Hyderabad in 1982-83; Graeme Fowler (201) & Mike Gatting (207) for England at Chennai in 1984-85 and Sanath Jayasuriya (340) & Roshan Mahanama (225) for S.Lanka at Colombo, RPS in 1997-98 have accomplished the feats of posting two 200-plus in the same innings against India.

# Clarke's series aggregate of 589 at an average of 147.25 is the third highest by an Australian captain in a Test series against India, next only to Don Bradman (715 at an average of 178.75 in five Tests in 1947-48) and Kim Hughes (594 at an average of 59.40 in six Tests in 1979-80).

# Ravichandran Ashwin (53-6-194-3) has established an unwanted record of conceding most runs in an innings in India-Australia Tests, eclipsing Anil Kumble's figures - 51-8-176-6 at MCG in December 2003.

# Ashwin has conceded most runs in an innings at Adelaide Oval, eclipsing John Gleeson's tally of 176 runs (35-2-176-1) for Australia against the West Indies in January 1969.

# Zaheer Khan has claimed 14 wickets at 31.35 runs apiece in the series - the most by an Indian bowler. The next best is Umesh Yadav - 13 wickets at 40.61 runs apiece.
