The match between Oman and Netherlands was washed out in Dharamsala without a ball being bowled. The result meant that Netherlands were dumped out of the competition while Oman put themselves in a position for a straight shoot-out for the main draw against Bangladesh. Oman's victory over Ireland has thrown the whole group wide open. A win for them against Netherlands will put them one step closer to qualification while a victory for Netherlands will throw the group wide open.
Group A is already becoming the "Group of Death" and a victory for the Men in Orange will ensure that all teams stay in the fray. An Ireland victory over Bangladesh will make things very interesting heading into the final day of qualification.

Oman captain, SULTAN AHMED says that they came in today's match confidently but its unfortunate they couldn't get a game. Adds that they have consistent performers and they have the ability to beat any team. Confirms his boys are excited and happy and their combination is working nicely. Assumes that the next game (Bangladesh vs Ireland) too won't happen and it will be a do-or-die game for them against Bangladesh. Ends by saying they are doing well and beating good side and his guys have been simply superb.
Netherlands captain, PETER BORREN says that his boys were hoping to get out there and go through. Adds that this is extremely disappointing and a lot of energy and time have gone into the preparation and they are absolutely gutted. Thinks that losing to Bangladesh with such a close margin hurt them. Adds that they could have done a bit more against Bangladesh. Adds that they didn't put out their best performance against the Asia Cup finalists. Ends by saying that opportunities for them don't come along and hopefully in 2 days time they will put up a great show to sign off.
What a sorry state Netherlands find themselves in. The are now officially out of the race to qualify further. Oman will take this result happily as they now have leapfrogged Bangladesh to top the table, for a while atleast. It will be a three-way race from here on between Oman, Bangladesh and Ireland.
