Dustin Byfuglien scored three consecutive goals in the first period for his first multigoal game and added an assist in Chicago's 6-1 victory over Phoenix on Friday.

Byfuglien, playing his 47th NHL game, matched the Chicago record for goals in a game by a defenseman set in 1977 by Dick Redmond and matched by Doug Wilson in 1991.

Devils 4, Canadiens 0

In Newark, New Jersey, Zach Parise had his first three-goal game and New Jersey won its sixth straight game by downing Montreal.

Martin Brodeur made 27 saves for his 94th shutout as the Devils beat the Canadiens for the ninth straight time.

Devils ironman Jay Pandolfo missed the game because of a groin injury, ending his streak of consecutive games at 307.

Penguins 4, Stars 1

In Pittsburgh, Sidney Crosby had two goals in Pittsburgh's third straight win, and the Penguins downed Dallas.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves for the Penguins, who have scored 14 goals in their past three games and have at least a point in five of their past six games after a 1-6 stretch.

The Stars have lost successive games after winning six straight.

Wild 3, Blues 2, OT

In St. Paul, Minnesota, Marian Gaborik's wrist shot with 2:39 to play in overtime lifted Minnesota over St. Louis.

Gaborik corralled the puck about 5 feet inside the Minnesota zone, wheeled, skated in on Manny Legace and beat him on the stick side.

The Wild have won three in a row for the first time since starting the season with five straight victories.

Sharks 3, Avalanche 2

In San Jose, California, Joe Thornton had two goals and an assist and San Jose snapped a three-game winless streak by beating Colorado.

Hurricanes 4, Capitals 3

In Raleigh, North Carolina, Rod Brind'Amour scored twice and Southeast Division-leading Carolina edged Washington.

Oilers 5, Ducks 1

In Edmonton, Alberta, Shawn Horcoff had a goal and two assists to help Edmonton beat Anaheim and win for the third time in four games.

Dwayne Roloson made 21 saves, conceding only in the first period.

Anaheim has just one win in its last 15 appearances in Edmonton.
