New Delhi:
India hung on to the fifth place in world hockey rankings despite finishing outside the medal bracket in the recently held Champions Trophy tournament in Pakistan. World champions Germany, who survived the relegation in the elite six-nation championship by the skin of their teeth, went one position up to replace the reigning Olympic champions Australia at the top. The Aussies paid the price for skipping the Champions Trophy and have slipped one step to the second spot. Holland is third followed by Pakistan and India. Spain, who won the champions trophy, improved their rankings by one place to be at sixth. (with wire inputs)Topics mentioned in this article
