India face Pakistan in the Azlan Shah hockey tournament in Kuala Lumpur today. India lost their first game of the tournament to Germany 3-1 on Thursday. Today's game will be a big test for the experimental hockey team. At the Champions Trophy in August 2003, India came back against Pakistan from 4-2 to win 7-4, but the Gagan Ajit Singh and half of that team will be missing in today's game. Juniors take on Pak
The team for the Azlan Shah tournament comprises of a lot of junior players who won the six-nation junior tournament in Poland in August. But the youngsters who have been given the responsibility of leading India's attack will have to perform much better than they did against Germany in their opening game losing 3-1 especially from penalty corners. Pakistan have Sohail Abbas in their ranks and he is considered the best drag flicker in the game today. India though have recent form on their side. In 2003, the Indians got the better of their arch rivals as many as 5 times out of 8 matches.

That included victories in the Asia Cup Final and in the Afro-Asian Games Final The overall head to head record however is overwhelmingly in favour of Pakistan. It will be the biggest game of the tournament and when India and Pakistan collide on the hockey field they tend to raise the game to another level.
