Argentina has become a force to reckon with in the world hockey, with its star player Jorge Lombi's penalty corner goals. In the absence of Sohail Abbas, Lombi is undoubtedly the biggest foreign star in the second edition of the Premier Hockey League. But the presence of other penalty corner specialists like Didar Singh and Dilip Tirkey in his team has meant limited opportunities. "It is very good, this competition. The level is also very good. It means if I'm not good, someone else can do the job. It is good for everybody, the teams and the fans," said Jorge Lombi, Hyderabad Sultans and Argentina. Most goals in modern hockey come from Penalty Corners today, and although Sohail Abbas will not be there for the PHL, Lombi will undoubtedly be the biggest star, and fans will certainly expect a lot of goals from him. Jugraj's comeback But for Jugraj Singh of the Chandigarh Dynamos, the stakes are much higher as he is looking to earn a recall to the national side. He was one of India's brightest young stars till a potentially career-ending car accident two years ago saw Jugraj Singh out of the Indian team. Back to the field after intensive physiotherapy and surgery on his right elbow, the strapping Chandigarh Dynamos player is looking to regain his spot in the national side, one that his younger brother Sandeep has ironically made his own. "This year is very crucial. There are many tournaments coming up. This edition of the PHL is very, very important for me. I'm trying hard to come back to the national side. I'm back to full fitness and eager to prove myself," said Jugraj Singh. But time is running out, since the Test series against Pakistan and the World Cup, Asiad and the Commonwealth Games are round the corner. Sadly, doctors and experts believe Jugraj can never recover the same power in his flicks, even though this workout would suggest otherwise.
