Gniezno:
Riding on a four-goal haul of Sandeep Singh, India scored a thumping 9-1 win against hosts Poland to register their fourth win on the trot in the Junior Challenge Open hockey tournament at Gniezno. Undefeated so far in this round-robin tournament, Indian juniors dominated the proceedings right from the start with their first goal coming as early as the second minute and led 4-0 at half time. The Indians earned four penalty corners and converted all of those through Sandeep Singh (11th minute, 31, 42, 62). The other goal scorers for the visitors were Hamza (2, 46), Tushar Khandekar (33, 67) and Nitin Kumar (53). Poland salvaged some pride by scoring one goal in the 51st minute. This was the only goal India has conceded in this six-nation tournament. (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
