New Delhi:Keeping the promise made to the Indian hockey team, Shree Cement Limited, has signed a deal with them by sponsoring the hockey sticks of the players.
Shree Cement had made the offer when the Indian hockey team had boycotted the national camp over the non-payment of their dues. It had offered to pay the difference amount to the players which the association was falling short of, so that payers could resume their training. However, the issue was sorted.
"As a part of our belief to give back to the society, we offered this sponsorship which we think would further motivate the players perform better on field. We are doing this for the love of the game and also for our pride as hockey is our national game." said HM Bangur, Managing Director of Shree Cement Ltd.
Bangur also wished the Indian team for the ongoing Hockey World Cup.
"We wish our team the very best for the ongoing world cup and we hope that they will do justice to the faith of their fellow countrymen and perform to the best of their ability. We remain committed in uplifting our national game and would always be there to support the players in their endeavor to bring glory to this national game." added Bangur.
