Hokkaido (Japan):Jeev Milkha Singh put himself in contention for a top-five finish at the Sega Sammy Cup after carding a four-under 68 that propelled him to tied fourth spot in the Japan Golf Tour event here on Saturday.
The 2006 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, now has a total of seven-under 209 and shares the fourth spot with three other professionals.
Jeev had a flawless front nine studded with birdies on the second, third and eighth holes.
His back nine was also going smoothly with birdies on the 11th and 16th before a 17th-hole bogey denied him a share of the second spot.
Sushi Ishigaki (69) leads the field at 11-under 205. Dinesh Chand (69) and Koumei Oda (69) share the second spot at eight-under 208.
