Loch Lomond (Scotland):
Jeev, who must be the best non-exempt finisher in the top-5 to make the grade for the year's third Major at Royal Birkdale next week, made a brilliant recovery over the last 10 holes with four birdies and no bogeys to finish the day at two-under 69.
With a total of eight-under 205, Jeev is tied for third and just two shots off the lead.
The lead is held by Simon Khan (68) and Graeme McDowell (66) who are both at 10-under 203. Jeev shares the third spot with Miguel Angel Jimenez (68) and Richard Green (70).
Jeev needs to finish ahead of Khan to ensure his place in the British Open.
"I am not thinking about anything except keeping the game going and sticking to the routine," said Jeev, who found 10 of the 14 fairways and 13 greens in regulation and needed 29 putts, which was better than his second round 32 putts.
Jeev opened with a bogey on first and then had two more on fourth and seventh, but he also had a birdie on the third. At two-over after seven holes, things did not look too good. He hit the overdrive with birdies on the ninth, 10th, 13th and 14th and did not drop any shots to finish at 69.
Jeev had rounds of 68 and 68 in first and second rounds.
Earlier, in the second round, he gave himself a last chance to qualify for the British Open as he added a second four-under 68 to total six-under 136 and place himself in tied eighth place at the midway stage of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Shiv Kapur, S.S.P. Chowrasia and Daniel Chopra missed the halfway cut.
Chowrasia (72, 70) was tied 82nd at even par, Kapur (71, 72) was one-over and tied 91st, while Chopra (76, 74), winner on PGA Tour this year, was eight-over and 148th.
Jeev put himself in this position despite the putter letting him down badly at the Loch Lomond Golf Club. If Jeev finishes as the highest non-exempt player in top-five he will make the grade for British Open next week.
"The putts just didn't fall. I had a bunch of birdie chances, but had 14 two-putts and just four single putts," said Jeev.
