Woburn:
Conditions were far from ideal for the third round of The Heritage at Woburn on Saturday. Halfway joint leader Philip Price was one of those to struggle in the rain. The Welshman dropped back into joint fifth place at nine-under-par after a par-round of 72. Price's fellow second round leader - Graeme McDowell - also had to settle for an even-pa score on Saturday. Things would have been even worse for the Ulsterman had he not sunk consecutive birdies at the 17th and 18th. Mark Foster joined Price, McDowell and Scotsman Alastair Forsyth at nine-under after a third successive three-under-par round. The Englishman moved to three-under for the day after holing an eagle putt at the 4th, but couldn't maintain his blistering start across the remaining 14 holes. Finland's Mikko Ilonen moved into contention with a fine seven-under-par 65 - the round of the day. Ilonen's round included six birdies and an eagle at the 10th, with a solitary bogey at the 6th the only blot on his scorecard. He sits at ten-under for the tournament. Simon Wakefield lies one shot and one place ahead of the Finn at 11-under. The Englishman carded a bogey-free round with five birdies to move to two shots off the pace. Patrik Sjoland has been a model of consistency this weekend and he continued his fine form with a third successive four-under-par round. The Swede shot yet another 68 with three of his five birdies coming over three consecutive holes before the turn - the 7th, 8th and 9th. But it is Sjoland's compatriot Henrik Stenson who finished the day at the top of the leaderboard on 13-under-par. In an eventful front nine, Stenson carded an eagle and a double-bogey either side of a birdie at the 5th. But the 28-year-old went bogey-free for the rest of his round while picking up another four birdies for a second successive five-under-par 67. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
