Andalucia, Spain: Shiv Kapur shot five-over 76 to be tied at 55th position after the first round, which put him in a danger of missing the cut at the Andalucia Masters on the European Tour here.
Kapur, who desperately needs a good finish to secure his card for 2012, shot as many as six bogeys and just one birdie on ninth hole.
He opened with two bogeys and a third followed on eighth before his lone birdie on ninth. He bogeyed three in a row from 15th to 17th to end with a 76.
Meanwhile, Scotland's Richie Ramsay opened the Andalucia Masters with a superb six under par 65 in blustery conditions to lead by two from England's Ross Fisher. Third at the Castello Masters last week, though he finished 12 shots behind winner, Sergio Garcia, Ramsay was looking very confident.
Ramsay turned in a three under 32, then started for home birdie-eagle and picked up another stroke when he chipped in at the short 15th. His only mistake came when he took six on the 536 yard 17th, missing the green with his pitch over the water into the wind.
Fisher, down to 83rd in the Official World Golf Ranking a year after making his Ryder Cup debut and without a top five finish all season, had seven birdies and ten pars, but also a triple bogey seven in his 67.
Ramsay's fellow Scot Stephen Gallacher shares third place with France's Gregory Havret on three under after a day when only four of the field broke 70.
