Okayama, Japan:Fifteen-year-old Ryo Ishikawa of Japan became the youngest winner on the men's professional tour when he won the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup on Sunday.
"It's finally sunk in. After four round I have come first," said Ishikawa as he wiped his tears.
The teenager could not have asked for a more stunning debut.
A former national junior high school champion, the amateur is not eligible to win the prize money of 20 million yen. But one of the tournament's sponsors decided to make an exception in the golf prodigy's case.
A day after Ishikawa became the world's youngest player to win a regular tour, the Japanese media obviously went bonkers, calling his game 'a miracle'. But the teenager says he has a long way to go to catch up with his idol Tiger Woods.
