Reno, USA:

Arjun Atwal stares at the prospect of missing yet another cut as the Indian went three-over 75 to lie tied 93rd after the opening round of the USD three million Legends Reno-Tahoe Open golf tournament here.

Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra carded a level-par 72 to be tied 36th, while Rod Pampling held a wafer-thin one-stroke lead over a group of seven at the Montreux Golf and Country Club.

It was a forgettable round by the Orlando-based Indian who bogeyed the fifth, 10th and 14th holes to go three-over before sinking his lone birdie of the day on the par-three 16th, only to drop another stroke on the very next hole that jeopardises his chances of staying back for weekend action.

Since returning from shoulder injury, nothing has gone right for Atwal who has failed to make the cut in last five tournaments he played in.
