The French Open 2010 has seen a number of upsets with big names like Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic and Venus Williams among others being ousted from the tournament.
Rafael Nadal and Samantha Stosur are the only big players left in the Men's and Women's draw. The tournament does promise an exciting finish.
With the tournament in its final stages we take a look at the big upsets that took place over the last 2 weeks and how they impacted the tournament.
World Number 1 and defending champion Roger Federer was ousted from the tournament when he lost to Swede Robin Soderling 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.(AFP PHOTO)
Women's top seed Serena Williams was knocked out in the quarterfinals by Australian Samantha Stosur 6-2 6-7 8-6. Last year too Williams was unable to go past the quarterfinals where she lost to Kuznetsova in an epic match.(AFP PHOTO)
Number 2 seed Venus Williams lost in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 to Russian Nadia Petrova in the third round. Last year too Venus could not make it past the third round where she lost to little known Agnes Svazay. (AFP PHOTO)
The second biggest upset took place after Serbia's Novak Djokovic was sensationally ousted,losing a five-set,four hour marathon to Austrian veteran Jurgen Melzer 6-3, 6-2, 2-6, 6-7(3), 4-6.(AFP PHOTO)
