Chennai:
India's racing driver, twenty-year-old Karun Chandhok, is moving up in the world of motor racing. He's graduating from the F3 into the Nissan World Series, which is just a step below the Formula 1 category. "It's exciting but nerve-wracking. The cars are big and very fast. It will be the first time for me working with European teams in circuits outside the UK," said Chandok. Whilst the shift from F3 cars into the higher league has come somewhat sooner than Karan might have dreamt of, he's delighted that he will drive alongside the experienced Narain Karthikeyan, who is in his third season in the World Series. "Its going to be good for the country to have both our drivers in the same team, same category," maintained Chandok. The young racing driver has done a little testing at Barcelona - approximately 8O laps. And as he grows in confidence Indian motor racing may have another driver, apart from Narain Karthikeyan, nearer the Formula 1 level than ever before.Topics mentioned in this article
