Michael Schumacher clocked the fastest time of the day in Friday's practice sessions ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.

Michael Schumacher clocked the fastest time of the day in Friday's practice sessions ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Ferrari's home circuit of Monza. Schumacher needed just two laps in the morning practice session to set his leading time, covering the 5.793 km circuit in one minute, 20.526 seconds. McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen clocked 1:20.846 minutes to record the fastest time of the afternoon session. Raikkonen beat Schumacher at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa on August 29, ending the German's seven-race winning run. Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya, in a Williams, set the mark at Monza in 2002 with a time of 1:20.264 minutes and an average speed of 259.827 kph. Ferrari won the constructors' championship for the sixth year in a row in Hungary last month and are preparing for a celebration in front of their home fans in the last European round of the season.
