Sardinia:
Saturday in Sardinia belonged to Petter Solberg of Norway as he dominated day two of the World Rally Championship Rally Italia Sardinia to move towards a third consecutive victory this year. The reigning world champion, winner in Japan and Wales recently, comprehensively outdrove his rivals on Saturday's seven special stages. He won six of the stages to move over a minute clear at the head of the field. He realistically needs victory to hold any chance of catching championship leader Sebastien Loeb of France and he extended his overnight advantage with a string of stage wins. His Subaru Impreza WRC is now two minutes 11.5 seconds ahead of his rival Loeb who himself is over a minute clear of Citroen team-mate Carlos Sainz of Spain. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
