Budapest: Nico Hulkenberg on Thursday laughed off suggestions he is set to leave the Sauber team after a spell of turbulence on and off the track.
The German said he felt confident he would keep his seat with the Swiss outfit despite a variety of rumours surrounding his future following major investment by Russian interests.
Hulkenberg joined Sauber after an impressive season with Force India last year.
He said: "It's rubbish - all of these stories they make me laugh, make me smile.
"I read it on Twitter where people can write to me and a bunch of people have a discussion and the next thing, I am thinking 'where has all this come from?'"
He added that he felt entirely confident about his future.
"To be honest, I feel very comfortable in my seat and in my skin. You can never be 100 per cent sure in this business but I feel I do a decent job...."
