Fresh from winning his seventh grand prix of the season - and the 77th of his career - in Canada last weekend, Michael Schumacher has been back on the track as he and Ferrari prepare for Sunday's US Grand Prix at Indianapolis. Not much in the way of respite for the German then, with the Indianapolis leg effectively beginning just a few days after Montreal. But Schumacher doesn't have a problem with the busy schedule. "We have, basically, three days between the Grands Prix in Montreal and Indianapolis, and that's fine. That's all you need to relax, and go for the next one," said Schumacher. The German, who holds just about every major individual record in Formula One, also picked up his third successive victory and fourth in five years on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. His seven victories in Montreal is a Formula One record for wins at one track. But, far from dwelling on yet another triumph, Ferrari's focus has now moved on to the next race, the American leg of the 2004 season. Schumacher explains how the Indianapolis track provides a different challenge to the others in F1. "To a degree, the half oval does compromise our set-up, because it's a very long straight, and that means you have to look for top speed. It's a place where you can overtake at Indianapolis, and we have to compromise the set-up, in a way, for that. To still, on the other side survive in the infield, it's a tricky com promise we have to achieve," he added. The six-time world champion now holds a 16 point advantage in this year's championship, ahead of teammate Rubens Barrichello, and is well on his way to an unprecedented seventh championship. BAR driver Jensen Button is third, a further ten points back. (AP)
