It is his last season in Formula one, and Michael Schumacher seems determined to bow out in style. On Sunday, the Ferrari driver won the Chinese Grand Prix to go on top of the drivers' standings ahead of defending champion Fernando Alonso on the basis of the number of races won. With just two races left to go, Schumacher calls his comeback nothing short of a miracle. The Chinese Grand Prix was the Ferrari driver's 91st career win and his fifth in the last seven races. Wet conditions Schumacher is known as the Regenmeister, or the Rain Master for his legendary abilities to drive in wet conditions. The skills came to the fore on a wet Shanghai track on Sunday. Schumi overturned a 25-second lead for Alonso after the first set of pit stops to beat his Renault rival by four and a half seconds. It completed an amazing turnaround with Schumacher taking the lead in the Drivers' championships by virtue of having won one more race than Alonso, who also has 116 points. With two races to go, the championship is clearly between the two drivers, with Giancarlo Fisichella, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen more than 50 points behind. "Looking back some while ago, it is quite a miracle that we are there. But thanks to great work out from everybody from us, we managed," said Schumacher "And now we go to the last two races and I believe that we will have to wait until the last one before a decision can be reached," said the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. It has been a great season for the fans, though there's plenty of acrimony between the drivers. Renault and Alonso insist that the FIA is trying its best to ensure an eighth world title for Schumi, so that he can go out in style. But on this occasion at least Alonso was beaten fair and square.
