Michael Schumacher's hot run of form continued with the German taking provisional pole for Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix. In Thursday's pre-qualifying session, Schumacher recorded a best time of one minute 16.305 seconds as he goes looking for a fourth straight victory. Even better news for Jean Todt came with Rubens Barrichello finishing as Schumacher's closest rival. The Brazilian powered round the 3.34-kilometer circuit in a time of one minute 16.636 seconds. Jenson Button in a BAR-Honda was third-fastest in one minute 16.895 seconds. It was a mixed day for Renault with Jarno Trulli finishing fourth-quickest in a time of one minute 16.905 seconds. David Coulthard is something of a Monaco expert. But the 2000 and 2002 champion had to be content with a fifth-best of the day of one minute 17.059 seconds. (AP)
