Hataria, Khan win JK Tyre Championship

The final of the five-legged JK Tyre National Road Racing Championship ended in Chennai at the MMST International Track at Sriperumbdur, 40 Kms away from the city. A winner all the way through the five rounds was Ayub Khan who breezed through to emerge the eventual champion in the Esteem category. An elated Ayub Khan remarked, "I feel very happy. I should thank everyone who supported me." Sarosh Hataria, despite being injured competed valiantly and although he came second and third in the two races consecutively, still managed to emerge the overall champion in the Formula Maruti car category. This win makes him eligible to go on to the Formula Asia level. Sarosh Hataria, winner in Maruti car category said he was very happy and added, "Actually, it was a tough race. I had the lead from the start though I lost it on the third corner and went a little wide." With the final day of racing now over the curtains have come down on this year's motor racing calendar.
